Winners of My Bloggy Giveaway

Posted by Heidi in

So sorry this “reveal” is so late in coming--I am utterly exhausted! I naively assumed that, in spite of my fibromyalgia, I would sleep well in a strange bed, that I could party with my friends (My name is Heidi and I’m a wheataholic) with no sufferance of consequences and stay up until the wee hours of the morning chatting with all and sundry and not suffer my usual insomnia due to the spinning of my thoughts after the strange and exotic stimulation of having a real conversation with a real woman/women. After all of that abuse to my system (don't get me wrong, I loved every millisecond of it and it was totally worth it!) I came home to a home even dirtier than the one I left (no surprises there) and my once dreamy bedroom is now the stuff of nightmares, the living room is a death-trap and the kitchen is downright poisonous. (Good thing I don’t deign to cook actual food in there.) In other words, I am nearly catatonic.

Before I announce the winners, I want to say how very VERY much I wanted to cheat. How fun it would be to have these things go to those who wanted them most or who was most appropriate (Marmee/Little Women paperdolls, Funky Bag Freak/funky bag are two examples that leap immediately to mind). However, I also want to be able to hold my head up high and say with no reservations that those who won, won without any cheating. I guess I wanted to do the second more than the first because that’s the way it went down.

And the winners are:

Lara of Overstuffed wins the Hawaii themed napkins and note cards

Wesley’s Mom (Sue) of It's Not As Easy As It Looks wins the Little Women paperdolls

Lisa of Away From It All (and boy, IS she!) wins the Denmark sketch (as well as the maternity clothes by default)

Megs of A Pinky Promise wins the Mary Coakley purse/bag

Christine Birmingham wins the Thomas the Tank Engine pillowcase

Val of Livin' La Vida Utah wins the Jonas Brothers posters

Anjeny of Ramblings of An Islander wins the My Scene doll

Julie of Youngbloods4ever wins the cool Valentines

Mina of The World According To The Little Fish wins the wicked flapper photo

And Jessica of A Nelson Narrative wins the Anna Lee santa
Congratulations to all who won and thanks to everyone for entering! Winners, please be sure to email me your mailing address at write2me@heidiashworth.com (unless you have my "real" email adress). Thanks!

Come back tomorrow for my blog post about all the fun bloggists I got to meet over the weekend. It. Was. Awesome. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. But only if it is a rather long and prolonged heartbeat what with that whole being tired thing and all . . .

I hope you feel better soon! Call a housekeeping service and watch them clean. That always makes me feel much better :-).

April 28, 2009 at 5:28 PM

While I am so sad that I could not get away this weekend to come up and meet you (seriously, going up the next TWO weekends...come back?), I am THRILLED to win the Hawaiian stuff. So cool. I won't even tell my kids they might have won Jonas brothers posters. :)

Thanks, Heidi!

It was so nice to finally meet you! So sad your house is a mess. I hope you get lots of cleaning done and lots of sleep! You deserve it! =)

Congrats to all!

[I am still seriously suffering from jealousy. I'm working on suppression. I am chanting, to quote Crash, "Push it down. Push it WAY down!"]

Awe sweetie, I'm so glad you even thought for a milli-second to cheat for me...

I'm praying you feel better quickly.

Congrats to all the winners, especially to Megs (enjoy my purse sweets) jk ;0p

I really enjoyed getting to know you.

April 28, 2009 at 5:45 PM

Well, I didn't get to meet you IRL and I didn't win a prize... man... my life sucks...
Congrats to all who got to do at least one of those things!

April 28, 2009 at 6:09 PM

I'm so sad and sorry that we missed you. My mom did have to work and I had a final. :( Hope you had a great time here.

April 28, 2009 at 6:28 PM

Heids, it was incredible to spend some quality time with you. (And just so everyone knows, Heids here has a GORGEOUS voice. I could listen to her speak all day!) Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to listen to me rant. I loves ya, girl.

Congrats to the winners!!! :)

April 28, 2009 at 6:48 PM

shoot, I missed out on the Provo get-together AND I didn't win any cool stuff...

It was a fun bloggy giveaway. Good for you for not cheating. :)

I feel doubly blessed/fortunate/cool/incredibly lucky --- I got to meet Heidi and win the Jonas Bros Posters!! Thanks!!

It really was fabulous to meet you - you are so adorable!

So sorry about the fibro hangover - I hate when it catches up with you. Whenever I've done something major and then am exhausted, I'm always surprised. It's those darn (fabulous) good days that make me forget that I'm going to feel crappy. Which IS better than feeling crappy all the time, that's for sure!!

April 28, 2009 at 7:56 PM

Oh wow!! I actually win something...my very VERY first win.. thank you Heidi, that is an awesome prize.

Hope you're able to get some well deserved rest. Glad you had a great time on your trip.

Kristina, NO, I was the lucky one! Becky--what a sweet thought! I would have to clean just to keep them from tripping over things, though. Heather--you are TOO adorable! I was so glad you came! Lara--the next TWO weekends? How unfair is that? Carolyn--I so loved meeting you! What a sweetheart you are! Thanks for the gift--I totally missed that it was from you, too b/c I was so tired when I read the card. Sorry! Jami--we are going to have to make more blog friends in the SF east bay, aren't we? We could have a blog party and everyone else will be dying of envy. Funky/Angi--loved meeting you too! You are so much fun! Abra--I blame Canada. Randi--I totally feel sad that you and your mom couldn't make it! boo hoo! Laura--you doll, you! By the time we met, I had been talking for three days straight and it made my voice a bit low and husky. It's normally high and squeaky. :) Your voice is lovely, as well and you have incredible hair! Wow! Pam--I am pretty sure you can find them somewhere! Sorry you didn't win! T--I still don't get why you would rather clean out your closets than meet the gals! Missed you! Heatherlyn--you are very welcome! Val--I know, I should have totally expected it but I am hopelessly optimistic. Oh well. I'll be feeling better soon, I'm sure. Anjeny, you are very welcome!

Congrats to all the winners.
Heidi, I'm new to your blog but I love it already...I love your readers just by the comments they leave....I love your stories and I can relate about your home...I work full-time and on weekends, love going out to book fairs (great one last weekend) and libraries, etc so housework is always on the back burner.

Thanks!
