Christmas Is Coming How Joyful We Shall Be!

Posted by Heidi in

Whaddya know! I am part of yet another way-fun book giveaway! It starts the 25th of December (that date rings a bell . . .I’m sure I have something else going on that day . . . can’t think quite what . . .) and it is 12 days of prizes a la The Twelve Days of Christmas (“That’s it! Christmas!” she says with a slap to her forehead) but Medieval style (wherein the 12 days start on the 25th and go through the 5th of January as originally intended) with visits to websites/blogs of 12 different authors. However, you do not have to wait until the 25th to participate in the contest. You can make a tour of all twelve websites this very moment! However, you will have to answer a question in order to be entered for a prize, and, oops, you have to get the answer right, as well! (I’m giving away a $20 Amazon gift card—I might fix it so you can only use it to buy my book, then again I might not figure out how to do that OR feel too lazy, in fact, I probably will be, so you can use it to buy anything on Amazon your little heart desires.) Go here for all the details, list of sites and the questions you will need to answer in order to enter.

And please remember tomorrow is the last day to vote for stories at ldspublisher. By commenting, you are entered to win one of three books, one of which is my very own Miss Delacourt Speaks Her Mind!

Since I am feeling lazy and stressed and way tired today, I am going to link you up to an old post all about an adventure we had one Christmas morning starring the Big Guy. Adventures starring the Big Guy like this one is the reason the Middle Child abhors Christmas music and why I am forced to listen to it only when she is at school or sleeping or in the shower since one tends to associate events with the music playing in the background. Apparently there have been one Christmas Adventure Starring the Big Guy too many. And apparently Christmas music was playing during all of them. Which is why I have been dancing on my head this Christmas WHILST THE MUSIC PLAYS trying to get the Middle Child to associate the music with her mother being silly and stupid and clearly inferior causing her to feel vastly superior with the end result that she walks away from Christmas this year feeling that it is a pretty good thing—and SO IS THE MUSIC! Priorities, you know?

Sounds exciting! I just learned a few days ago that the 12 days of Christmas start after Christmas. Where have I been?!?

Another contest??? I didn't know about the 12 days of Christmas starting on the 25th....I have always wanted to do something for the 12 days of Christmas, but by the time I remember it's like the 15th of Dec.....I could do this!

That post of Christmas 06 was hilarious...in a really horrific way! One year our youngest pulled out the firehouse trick...at 6 am on Christmas morning in the master bathroom. Again, the event defies description. But you did a pretty terrific job of it. Oh, my. I'm not sure how you lived through that...and half the other things you go through. Thank heaven you have a sense of humor even stronger than your sense of smell!

The new contest sounds fun too! Never a dull moment at Dunhaven Place!

Yes.
You Heard Me.
I called you a QUEEN.

No need to thank me.

Contests, they're always great, and there can never be too many!

oh - because one day of Christmas just isn't enough stress for some of us poor souls :)

but of course - the word "contest" always gets me excited :)

Will definitely be checking out the contest momentarily. However, before I do, I must say that I read your post from Christmas 2006. For the first time in my life, I think I am actually speechless when it comes to writing a comment. Yes, your re-cap of puke and presents have rendered me without words.

I am glad to see that your family did manage to recover and you obviously lived to tell the story. Are there more snippets like this in your book?

Thanks for reading you guys, had a bad day yesterday and wasn't able to get to all of yours but I'm going to make up for it now!

Hope you are having a better day today. Cold and snowy here. I love it for Christmas, but then...

Take care. I am off to read the link!

I may or may not participate in the contest, but I did read your post about the best Christmas ever. It's a good thing I wasn't around or else the mess would have doubled.

I remember this one time in elementary school. We were standing in line in the lunchroom waiting for the warden to lead us back to our cell block. The lunch of one of the kids up front had decided to make a break for it. Like dominoes, three more kids followed suit, I being the last. It's too bad none of us got the teacher, as she was quite evil and most deserving of getting hurked on.

Kaz, you have probably already read it, but bless your heart--James, we know many words for throwing up around here but have never heard "hurked" so thank you! We can never have too many around here.
