Where-in My Computer Escapes Death Twice In One Day

Posted by Heidi in

Wow! I made it into the Nie-Nie book! I can’t believe it. I really didn’t think I was going to make the cut. When I read Sue’s post spilling her feelings, i.e. panic and fear that bloggists (there’s that word that’s not a word that I love, again—I am so going to single-handedly bring this “word” into fashion, but, er, with your help, of course!) all over the blogosphere were going to egg her virtual house (again!) I had this distinct yet creepy feeling she was talking directly to moi.

So, I prepared myself. I steeled myself. In fact, when I read the list, I was so darn sure I wasn’t on it, that I didn’t even see it! It took walking away from the computer (slowly, with my hands up) and falling-- savagely and with murderous intent--upon a bowl of semi-melted chocolate ice cream before I could actually discern my name on that there list.

What a head case, huh?

Life has taught me much, one of which is this: there is very little a bowl of semi-melted chocolate ice cream can’t mend. (Here's proof)

So-can I have the eggs you were going to use for her proverbial house? I have someone else in mind (not a bloggist, mind you)---that deserves them:)

Congrats!

So THAT's what I did wrong! I didn't see my name on the list and then I skipped the part about the ice cream and went back, and --- it still wasn't on there! If only I'd known! Oh well. Too late now. :)

Congrats again!!

Congratulations - that's exciting!

And bloggist? Totally a valid word.

Barb--heavens no! I didn't want to egg her house, not even over the Cordy thing. There were some who did, though, and I feel badly about that--but, no, not me. Never. I love Sue. Lisa--Lisa, was it chocolate? And melty? Sometimes, when it's a cold day, you have to stick in the microwave for a few secs (it was years before I knew my twin sister does the exact same thing. Totally freaked me out). Becky-you mean, didn't invent it? I'm crushed . . .heading for the freezer . . .

I meant, You mean, I didn't invent it. ergh

Congratulations, Heidi! You rock, you ol' Alden broad! :)

I'll try to help along your bloggist crusade. It's gotta be my favorite cause of the year.

Why would you NOT make it into Sue's book? You're fabulous and oh-so entertaining!! And those choco chips just became celebration instead of comfort -eh?

I'm so happy to hear that! I didn't see your name either and I looked up and down for people I know. Weird. So now that I know, congratulations!

Heather, garsh, you've only been reading me for a few days, seems kinda soon for such talk, Abra--now YOU've been around long enough to say that kind of stuff so lay it on baby, Heather of long acquaitance (comparatively)--see email--oh!you did, good work!--Stacey--this is so true. OR if they would even just gain weight when they DO eat it. Life isn't fair!

I got the news about both of us making it after the pity party. Chocolate chip, pecan, oatmeal cookies. Lots of them. Mmm. I was very comforted and then it turned out I too had missed my name.

Jami, you mean to say that oatmeal works too? Cause I eat that every morning. Or, does it have to be mixed with chocolate chips and pecans? (You know, that's not a bad idea--for breakfast, in the oatmeal. Hmmmm ....)

You deserve to be in the book. Congratulations to one of my favorite bloggists.

I think ice cream solves lots of problems. I recently ate some but didn't find the envelope of Christmas money on my front porch like I was hoping... :( But I know when I eat something good it does a good deal toward distracting me from other horrible things!

Kazzy! Did I accidentally leave it on Jana's porch instead!??!? Oh, dear! Sorry about that (you are so funny!)

Glad you made it in!

Now because of you two, I'm having oatmeal with chocolate chips tomorrow for breakfast.
